FORT ATKINSON (WKOW) -- Fort Atkinson High School senior James Nachtigal signed his letter of intent to play football at Army on Wednesday. His decision came down to Army and Northern Illinois. Nachtigal played wide receiver in high school and caught eight touchdown passes as a senior, but he expects to play outside linebacker with the Black Knights. Nachtigal is the first Fort Atkinson football player to sign with a Division-one program under head coach Steve Mahoney. Five-time NFL pro bowler John Offerdahl started his football career at Fort Atkinson in the 1970s.
