MADISON (WKOW) -- UW-Madison Police are looking for two men in connection with a brazen theft case.

Police say a student was studying with friends around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Lakefront on Langdon Café at the Memorial Union, when a man walked up, grabbed her laptop and ran. No words were exchanged.

Witnesses nearby told campus police they'd seen the suspect about 20 minutes earlier acting suspicious, and possibly scoping out the area for a potential target.

UWPD is reminding the campus community to always be aware of their surroundings and immediately tell police about any suspicious activity or people.

The suspected thief is described as a black man with a thin build, wearing a green camouflage jacket with a red hooded sweatshirt under the jacket, blue jeans, dark shoes, and a striped red white and black stocking cap.

A possible second suspect is described as a Latino man with a heavyset build, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans and white shoes.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call UWPD at (608) 264-COPS.
