Black Hawk Middle School receives thousands of snacks

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- Black Hawk Middle School got a massive delivery of munchies on Thursday.

A majority of the students there qualify for free or reduced price lunches, so the school asked for help from the community to donate snacks for its students.
The Great Lakes Higher Education Corporation responded in a big way, and delivered more than 45,000 items Thursday morning.

Sean Storch, the Black Hawk Principal says, "Some of them dont get lunch until 12:30 and in the mid-day they don't have a snack from home often times and its incredibly important for them to have a snack so they have energy to stay focused on learning."

So many snacks were donated, Black Hawk has decided to share them with students at Sherman Middle School.
