Driver charged in case of tricyclist lodged in windshield

Posted: Updated:
MANITOWOC (AP) -- Charges have been filed against a driver in a bizarre hit and run crash in Manitowoc.  Police say 20-year-old Jamie Hang drove home, with 56-year-old Steven Gove lodged in the vehicle's windshield.  Officers say Hang had been drinking.

The 20-year-old is now charged with four counts, including first-degree recklessly endangering safety.

Gove had just finished delivering newspapers on his tricycle when he was hit from behind in late January.  Gove crashed through the windshield, got stuck and remained there as Hang continued driving.

Gove was not seriously injured.

Hang is scheduled to appear in Manitowoc County Circuit Court Monday.
