Forecasters calling southern storm "catastrophic"

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA, GA (WKOW) -- The rough winter continues for the southern United States.

Officials spent Tuesday preparing for another big storm.

This one is expected to drop snow and what some forecasters are calling "catastrophic" ice.

The Atlanta area could get up to 1.5 inches of ice.

"This is one of mother nature's worse kind of storms that can be inflicted on the south, that is ice. It is our biggest enemy," says Georgia Governor Nathan Deal.

Other parts of Georgia could get up to 5 inches of snow.

Many people rushed to grocery stores to stock up so they don't have to leave home Wednesday.
