MADISON, WI (WKOW) -- Eleven Sun Prairie high school seniors had their moment in the spotlight Wednesday night with an official college football signing ceremony.
Top recruit, Craig Evans was one of two players to sign with a division one school Evans has committed to Michigan State, while fullback Aaron Fischer will attend Northern Illinois University next fall.
Evans was a long-time Badger recruit. The big defensive lineman said his decision came down to a last minute conversation with Wisconsin head coach Gary Andersen.
"I told him, you know, as bad as I want to come to Wisconsin, I felt like I was worried about pleasing others," Evans said, "where in the back of my mind I always knew Michigan state was where I was supposed to be."
Four players will continue their football careers at UW-Lacrosse.
Three other cardinals signed with UW-Whitewater, including 3-year starting quarterback Ryan Curran. The senior threw for more than 5,000 yards, 63 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions during his Sun Prairie career.
National college football signing day was February 5.
