Last minute WI getaways for your Valentine's Day sweetheart

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- Valentine's Day is tomorrow and if you forgot about it, it's not too late to plan something special your sweetie will think you spent months on.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says there are some amazing last-minute getaways right here in the Badger State. Lisa Marshall talked about some of them on Wake Up Wisconsin.

If you'd like to visit the Kohler area, The American Club has several couple's packages, which all include discounts at the Kohler Water Spa. You might also want to try the Valentine Candlelight Ski & Hike at Kohler-Andrae State Park.

If "urban" is more your style, a lot of Milwaukee restaurants offer Valentine's Day specials. The Milwaukee Art Museum's "Rendezvous: Valentine's Dinner" is also a good choice. The Marcus Center for the Performing Arts will present "Valentine Romance." Or you might want to take your sweetie to Red Arrow Park downtown to ice skate.

Marshall says don't forget about the Lake Geneva area either, since it's so close. The new "Maxwell Mansion" is near the Baker House, which is usually sold out for Valentine's Day. But Maxwell Mansion just opened this summer and is the oldest mansion in town. The Lake Geneva School of Cooking also offers Funny Valentine courses this weekend.
