Two more GOP Assembly members leaving state legislature

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- Two more Republican state Assembly members say they will not run for re-election later this year.

Rep. John Klenke, of Green Bay, announced Monday he won't run for a third term, and Rep. Mary Williams, of Medford, said last week she would retire after 12 years in the Legislature.

That makes six Assembly members not running again, with five of them being Republicans. An additional five are running for a different office and won't be returning to the chamber.

Republicans currently hold a 60-39 majority in the Wisconsin Assembly.
