Eau Claire (WQOW) - The alcohol level of the driver accused in Monday's fatal hit-and-run crash in Eau Claire was more than twice the legal limit, according to charges filed Wednesday.

Gregory Price, from Elk Mound, is now charged with homicide by drunk driving, hit-and-run causing death, and fourth offense drunk driving.

He's accused of hitting and killing 74-year-old Joe Miller.  Miller was plowing snow with his ATV along West Folsom Street when he was hit. One witness said Price looked at the damage to his van, then got back in and drove off. Witnesses who chased Price said an ATV tire came dislodged from the van during the chase.  Police say they also found an ATV fender wedged in the damaged van.

Police say Price first said he drank six beers, then later said he had six whiskey drinks over the past two hours.  They say Price admitted he was drunk, and that he told them he left the crash scene because he didn't want to get a ticket.

In court Wednesday, the judge set Price's bond at $20,000.
