Hazardous travel today, blowing and drifting main concern

Eau Claire, WI (WQOW) - The snow has nearly ended in western Wisconsin, but blowing and drifting will be a problem heading through this morning and part of this afternoon.  Travel will be very difficult today.

Stormtracker 18 Weather meteorologists say 6 to 12 inches of snow fell in the Chippewa Valley from this storm, while locations far north and west of Eau Claire have reported totals of 12 to 18 inches. A strong west wind will prevail today, averaging about 25 mph with gusts of 45 mph.  Blowing and drifting will be a problem, especially in rural areas and open terrain.  If you have the option of not traveling, please stay home.  Otherwise, plan lots of extra time and be prepared for delays.
