Fatal crash in Clark County


Clark County (Sheriff's Office News Release) - Clark County authorities are investigating a two vehicle crash that took the life of one of the drivers.

On February 21st 2014 at about 8:33am, the Clark County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call of an accident at the intersection of County Highway O and Sate Highway 29 in the Township of Hixton.

Initial investigation indicated that a vehicle driven by Dennis G. Dumke, 56 years old, was traveling north on CTH O and approached the intersection of State Highway 29. Dennis entered the intersection and failed to yield to a semi-tractor being driven by Daniel W. Landrum, 42 years old, going west. Daniel swerved to try and avoid the vehicle but was struck on the driver side. Daniel was wearing his seatbelt. Dennis was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from his pick-up truck. Dennis was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clark County Coroner Richard Schleifer.

Daniel is from Wausau and Dennis is from the Owen area.

The Clark County Sheriff's Office is continuing the investigation into the crash. This is the second fatality for Clark County in 2014.
