Snow and frozen ground makes power pole repair a slow process

Posted:

Eau Claire (WQOW) - As of 9:30pm Saturday night Riverview Dr. in Eau Claire has been blocked off for hours, near the 28 hundred block.

The Eau Claire Police Department says the north and south bound lanes are closed because of a power pole and line lying in the road. Police say it fell after a vehicle slid and crashed into it around 5:00pm. No one was injured.

Xcel Energy crews are working to make the repairs.  Police say it's taking longer to fix because of the snow and frozen ground.

UPDATE: Repairs were finished just before midnight and the road was reopened.
