Van de Loo, Mayo named in civil lawsuit

Eau Claire (WQOW) - The former Eau Claire pediatrician recently acquitted of sexually assaulting patients, faces yet another civil lawsuit. The latest suit was filed this week against Doctor David Van de Loo

According to the lawsuit he allegedly manipulated a boy's genitals, without wearing rubber gloves, during medical visits.  The incidents allegedly happened numerous times when the boy was age 7 to 13.  His lawyer says the boy has suffered profound psychological damage.

Also named in the suit, the Mayo Clinic Health System. The suit claims Mayo received an allegation about similar conduct by Van de Loo in 2007, but did nothing about it.  Mayo has denied that it had prior knowledge until the case came to light in 2012.

28 former patients now have civil lawsuits pending against Van de Loo.
