Amery man arrested for OWI with toddler in the car

(News Release) - Maurice Lipscomb, 30 years of age, from Amery, WI has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol - Eau Claire Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 1st offense, with a child in the vehicle.

On February 23, 2014, at 3:50 AM, a WI State Trooper conducted a traffic stop on Lipscomb while he was traveling eastbound on Interstate 94 near MM 51. Lipscomb was traveling 89 MPH in a 65 MPH speed zone.

Lipscomb was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 1st offense, with a minor in the vehicle. He was taken to Mayo Health in Menomonie for a blood draw and subsequently released to a responsible adult.

There were two passengers in the vehicle. The passengers included a 60 year-old adult from Milwaukee whom did not possess a valid driver's license and a 16 month-old child.
