Train cars derail between Augusta and Fall Creek


Eau Claire County (WQOW) - 

Three trains cars go off the tracks between Fall creek and Augusta.

A Union Pacific Railroad spokesman said it happened last night.  The railroad said the train was hauling 64 empty railcars when it happened. No one was hurt. The cause is still being investigated.   The cars were placed back on the tracks this morning and the line reopened shortly before noon.

(WQOW) - Crews are working to clean up after a handful of train cars derailed Sunday night.

It happened around 11:15 p.m. between Augusta and Fall Creek.  Union Pacific owns the train. The company says there were no injuries and a cause for the derailment is still under investigation.  The train had 64 cars, three of which went off the tracks.

The company hopes to reopen the line later Monday afternoon.
