Eau Claire (WQOW) - One thing written inside a pizza box leaves an Eau Claire customer very upset.  It also has us asking questions about the intent.

Choua Xiong ordered from Topper's on Thursday night.  "Chinis" was written inside the box.  Choua believed it was a racial slur.  She posted the picture on Facebook -- which was shared more than 500 times.  The North Clairemont store she ordered from --reached out to Xiong to set the record straight.  Topper's said "chinis" is the store's shorthand for pepperoncini.  Customers must ask for the pepper specifically, and when they do, Topper's writes it inside the box to make sure it's added.

"He seems pretty sincere about it. He gets that it can be seen as a racial slur. It's the outcome that impacts people. It's the consequences, not the intention," Xiong said.

Xiong added that when she spoke with the North Clairemont Toppers they were developing a new way to indicate pepperoncinis should be added to an order.
