GM Recalls 1.37M cars

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- General motors is expanding a recall on cars with a defect blamed for several deaths.

The automaker originally announced the recall affected about 800,000 vehicles and the problem involved six deaths. Now, GM says it includes 1.37 million cars built between 2003 and 2007 and involves 13 deaths.

The recall is intended to correct an ignition switch problem that can cause the key to move into the accessory or off position.

It already involved Chevrolet Cobalts and Pontiac G5's and Pursuits.

Now Saturn Ions, Chevy HHR's and the Pontiac Solstice and Sky models have been added to the list.
