Posted: Updated:
LA CROSSE (WKOW) -- A La Crosse police sergeant faces a felony charge for threatening to kill his family.

The department began investigating Patrol Sergeant Alan Iverson (45) after receiving a complaint from his wife February 19.  Iverson's wife claims he began to threaten her after she said she wanted a divorce.  Police later found a gun in his car.

Iverson has been placed on paid administrative leave.  He has been charged in La Crosse County Circuit Court with threats to injure and disorderly conduct as a domestic abuse offense.  The case will be handled by a judge from another county.
