MADISON (WKOW) --- A Madison lawyer has been charged with misdemeanor battery, domestic abuse, and use of a dangerous weapon.

According to the criminal complaint, police were called to the lakefront home of Daniel Rottier for a disturbance between a man and a woman.

Rottier's wife says her husband was supposed to take her and the children to a movie, but when he came home after drinking she confronted him about being drunk.

Rottier then drew back his cane and struck his wife across the back.   Officers observed a red welt about an inch wide and seven inches long on her back.

62-year-old Rottier was arrested and taken to Dane County Jail where he was found to have a blood alcohol level of 0.13.

Habush, Habush & Rottier have 39 lawyers in Wisconsin.  Rottier works here in Madison.
