MADISON (WKOW) -- Dr. Ozioma Okonkwo, a researcher for the Wisconsin Alzheimer's Disease Research Center and assistant professor of medicine at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health, will study the effects of aerobic exercise for Alzheimer's disease prevention.

The study will focus on at-risk middle aged adults. Study participants will be chosen through the Wisconsin Registry for Alzheimer's Prevention.

Okonkwo received the 2014 New Investigator Research Grant to Promote Diversity from the Alzheimer's Association. His research hopes to bring new information on the deadly disease.

Alzheimer's disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the U.S.
