Propane shortage eases and prices drop

Posted:

Wisconsin (WQOW) - Propane dealers say the propane shortage of one month ago has eased in Wisconsin.

"The product is plentiful and the prices have dropped to about what we saw in December, which was between $2.19 and $2.35," said Gary France of France Propane Service in Schofield.

In January, the price of a gallon of liquid propane spiked at more than $4.

France, the chairman of the National Propane Gas Association, says the group is studying what created the shortage and what can be done to prevent it in the future.

The group's national meeting is in April.
