Rumpel named a candidate for Mike Richter Award

MADISON (WKOW) -- Badger junior Joel Rumpel has been named one of 18 candidates for the inaugural Mike Richter Award. The award honors the top goaltender in NCAA men's hockey.

Rumpel leads the Big Ten with a .786 winning percentage, 1.83 goals-against average and .936 save percentage. He ranks third in the country in both win percentage and goals-against average. He is fifth in the country in save percentage.
