SLICK STREETS: ECPD asking drivers to slow down

Posted:

Eau Claire Police Department (News Release) - Our department has responded to large number of traffic crashes since the snowfall ended on February 28th. The road surface conditions were already poor due the previous snowfall.

Snow that packed into ice on road surfaces was made even more slippery with the additional snowfall yesterday. We ask that motorists take the road conditions into account while traveling in the area.

Please slow down, posted speed limits are for clean dry roads-not icy ones.

Please use caution when approaching intersections and using turning lanes, the ice is
worse in those locations.

Please obey all traffic signs and signals, they are there for everyone's safety.

Plan ahead: Leave earlier. Allow yourself more travel time. Drive slower and arrive safely.
