Illinois man guilty of murdering Rock Co. woman

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- A jury has found a Rockford, Ill. man guilty of the first-degree murder of 36-year-old Lori Daniels, of Afton, Wis.

Prosecutors made their case that 24-year-old Kody Walsh shot and killed Daniels in 2012, while they were passengers in a vehicle near South Beloit.

Prosecutors also argued Walsh tried to kill the driver of the vehicle, but the Winnebago County, Ill. jury acquitted him of attempted murder charges.

Walsh fled after killing Daniels and police caught him a week later in Memphis, Tenn.
