Local residents asked to fill up their bowls to feed the hungry


Eau Claire (News Release) - Feed My People Food Bank will hold its 14th annual Empty Bowls benefit from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at The Florian Gardens, 2340 Lorch Ave., Eau Claire.

Empty Bowls is a fundraiser serving locally made soup, specialty breads and desserts where guests can chose to take an "empty bowl" home with them. These bowls are donated by local students, community members, and artisans. Proceeds from the event help fund Feed My People's local hunger-relief programs.

Ticket prices are $18 for a meal and hand-designed bowl or $8 for the meal alone. Children age 10 and under are free. Bowl numbers are limited; advance ticket purchase is recommended. Advance tickets are available at Feed My People Food Bank and online at www.fmpfoodbank.org. Tickets will also be available at the door. Guests may dine-in or take their meal to-go.

Feed My People Food Bank is a food distribution center that supplies more than 6 million pounds of food to annually to more than 100 hunger-relief agencies in 14 west central Wisconsin counties. Funds raised through Empty Bowls will provide meals for area families struggling with hunger.
