Man struck by car during Madison street fight

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police were called to a street fight on Sunday afternoon in the 3100 block of Churchill Drive after one of the men involved was struck by a car.

Police say the 23-year old man was taken to the hospital with a shattered kneecap.

He told officers he was part of an altercation involving several other men, and in the middle of the fight, a car drove at him and hit his leg.

The driver, 21 year-old Lavonte Enochs of Madison, was arrested for first degree reckless endangerment.

During the fight, witnesses say a second car also drove quickly at some fighters, but missed and crashed into a mailbox and a snowbank.

Police say it is not clear why the fight began.
