New reports of frozen pipes, despite warmer temps

Eau Claire (WQOW) - Despite 50-degree weather, the word, "frozen" is still being heard by Eau Claire city workers. Reports of frozen pipes keep coming in.

The city says 46 reports have been made since Saturday.  That makes more than 425 for the year.  The utilities administrator, Jeffrey Pippenger, says many of these are repeat calls.

Pippenger urges customers who've already had frozen pipes to keep a small stream of water running until the city tells them to stop.  He says a number of homeowners have turned the faucet off after crews thawed the pipes, only to have them re-freeze.
