La Follette student cited for bring weapon on school property
MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police say a 17-year-old La Follette high school student was cited for bring a dangerous weapon on school property.
The weapon was a realistic looking BB gun and was found in Deldemontae Bell's backpack Monday afternoon. The BB gun had six hollow cartridges, very similar to brass bullets, in the cylinder part of the revolver.
Bell says he found the weapon at a bus stop earlier in the day. He didn't threaten anyone with it, and it hadn't been removed from his backpack until an officer inspected the bag.
The student was cited for dangerous weapon other than firearm on school property.
