Suspects confess to damaging nearly 40 mailboxes in Clark Co.


Clark Co. (News Release) - On Wednesday, March 5, 2014, the Clark County Sheriff's Office received numerous complaints of damage done to mailboxes. The damage occurred during the night of Tuesday, March 4, 2014, and into the early morning hours of Wednesday, March 5, 2014, in the towns of Weston, Pine Valley, Levis and Hewett.

During the course of the investigation, the suspects, who live in the City of Neillsville, were found by matching evidence at the scene. They were subsequently interviewed and confessed to the damage of about 40 mailboxes.

We are in the process of contacting several people who had their mailboxes damaged, but are finding it difficult to notify everyone involved.

If you had your mailbox damaged between March 4 and March 5, 2014 in Clark County and live in the above towns, call the Sheriff's Office at 1-800-743-2420 or 715-743-3157 and report it if you haven't done so already.

The suspects' names are not being released at this time because of the ongoing nature of the investigation.
