Two teens fatally shot in Milwaukee

Posted: Updated:
MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner was called to the city's north side Wednesday afternoon for the report of a double shooting.

According to our affiliate, WISN, Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn says the shooting happened inside the common area of an apartment building on 27th and Vliet.

They say three people got into a fight with a maintenance man at the building.  One person started beating the man with a bat, while another held him.  The 39-year-old maintenance man pulled out a gun and fired, killing two.  One of the victims is a 19-year-old male and the other is a 17-year-old female.

The third person, a 21-year-old man, is now in police custody.  The maintenance man is being treated at an area hospital and is cooperating with police.

Police say a bystander video recorded both the assault and shooting.

The incident remains under investigation.
