Driver battles life-threatening injuries after Buffalo Co. crash


Buffalo Co. (News Release) - On Thursday, March 13, 2014, at about 6:45 a.m., the Buffalo County Sheriff's Office received a report of a one-vehicle crash with injury and entrapment near the intersection of Kamrowski Rd. and Prairie Moon Rd. in the Town of Milton.

A 2000 Pontiac Grand Am was traveling southbound on Kamrowski Rd. when it encountered an ice patch on the roadway. The vehicle then left the roadway, becoming airborne, striking a power line pole and railroad crossing arm.

The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle was trapped within the vehicle, sustaining life-threatening injuries and was transported via Mayo One Air Ambulance to Rochester, MN. The driver's name is being withheld at this time.

Assisting the Sheriff's Office at the scene were the Fountain City Fire Department and First Responders, as well as the Winona Area Ambulance Service and Mayo One Air Ambulance.

The accident remains under investigation.
