New candidate kicks off congressional campaign to run against Rep. Ron Kind


Eau Claire (WQOW) - Republican Chris Anderson, a nativeof Barron, is running for Wisconsin'sThird Congressional District. Andersonwas an aide for U.S. Senator Ron Johnson until January. He moved to the La Crosse area threemonths ago and said he always planned on returning after attending collegethere. He said with the high numbers of families on food stamps, and thenational debt on the rise, he feels this is his time to address the issues inoffice.

Anderson said, "I look at our federalgovernment, and I don't like the direction it is going. Everyday, we seeCongress fail to address the real issues of our country: increase the size ofour federal government and place more burdens on our local businesses. Peopleare out of work, families are hurting."

This is Anderson's first time running for office. Heis running against Democrat incumbent Ron Kind, who has been in office for 18years.
