Wisconsin earns its seventh Frozen Four appearance

Posted: Updated:
MADISON -- In the first-ever NCAA contest to be played at LaBahn Arena, the No. 3 Wisconsin women's hockey team lit the lamp twice in front of a loud, sell-out crowd to overcome No. 6 Harvard, 2-1, in the quarterfinal tilt of the 2014 NCAA tournament.

The Badgers missed the NCAA tournament in 2013, but is back in the Frozen Four for the seventh time in nine seasons.

Senior Alex Rigsby made 23 saves to record her 100th career win. She holds the school record for career wins, and is now tied for second on the NCAA all-time list.
