Beloit man killed in crash while fleeing from police identified

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- Police have identified the Beloit man killed after he crashed his vehicle into a pole early Sunday morning.

The Beloit Police Department says 22-year-old Adrain Taylor died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the crash on Roosevelt Avenue in Beloit around 2 a.m. Sunday.

Authorities say an officer attempted to stop Taylor, who was speeding, but the vehicle hit another car before hitting a utility pole. The vehicle was cut in half. The other car was heavily damaged.

Both Taylor and his passenger, 22-year-old Special Tume Davidson, were ejected after hitting the pole. The two were critically injured, but Taylor later died at the hospital.

The two occupants in the other damaged vehicle were not hurt

Police say Taylor was operating with a suspended driver’s license and had an outstanding arrest  warrant through the Rock County Sheriff’s Office for Disorderly Conduct.

The crash remains under investigation.
