UPDATE: Tips lead Monona police to person of interest in attempted robbery

MONONA (WKOW) -- Based on tips from the public, the vehicle pictured, which was involved in the attempted robbery at the Chase Bank on Broadway in Monona has been found.

Police say they are still looking for the man who drove the vehicle from the scene and are asking anyone with information to contact the Monona Police Department at 608-222-0463.


MONONA (WKOW) -- Based on tips received from the public, a person of interest in an attempted bank robbery has been contacted by the Monona Police Department and charges are pending.

Officers say the suspect tried to rob the Chase Bank on Broadway around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon.  They say the same man was seen at two other banks in that area around the same time.

Police are still looking for the other man involved.  That person was driving an older dark blue Chevrolet Tahoe or GMC Yukon.  The vehicle had a visor above the windshield and plastic taped over the front passenger window.

Anyone with information about the vehicle is asked to call the Monona Police Department at 608-222-0463, Crime Stoppers at 608-266-6014, or you can text information to "MONONA" and TIP411 (847411).
