Eau Claire (WQOW) - An idea in the works for close to 10 years will go in front of a city commission next week.
The plan for a deck over looking the Chippewa River at the corner of 5th and Menomonie Street will go to the water ways and parks commission.
The project would create a deck with a view of the river as well as tube landing with a gradual path to get to the rivers edge.
"I think it will be a really nice peaceful place," said Lisa Aspenson, part of the Water Street Business Improvement District. "It will be a place for people to really enjoy the area. And it will be a good break if you're on the trail excising."
The $30,000 project would be funded through money set aside by the Water Street business Improvement District as well as donations.
The city council has final say on the project
