ECASD hopes parents and students will provide feedback in annual survey

Eau Claire (WQOW) - Surveys can be a tool to improve. The Eau Claire School District is now launching one, hoping to learn a lesson of its own.

The district has launched a survey that will allow parents and students to weigh in on what they believe the district needs to improve on. About 6,000 students in grades 5-12 are taking part. 9,000 parents also will also be providing feedback.

"Last year was our first year that we included the family and student survey. This will be the second year," said Jim Schmitt, the Eau Claire Area School District's curriculum coordinator. "We expect to do this survey annually because it provides us information to where we can become better as a school district to create a positive school system for our students."

This year's survey will focus on improving academics, ways to offer student support and some after school activities.
