Confluence supporters say they've topped $5 million in pledges
Eau Claire (WQOW) - Despite uncertainty surrounding the Confluence Project, supporters say hundreds of thousands of dollars have been pledged in the past six weeks.
They say since a $250,000 challenge match was issued by Charter Bank in February, $425,000 in donations have been pledged for the proposed community arts center.
That includes $100,000 from Justin Vernon of the musical group Bon Iver, $100,000 from Northwestern Bank and $225,000 in commitments from several people who want to remain anonymous. Supporters say they've now topped $5 million in pledges in an effort to raise $13 million through philanthropy for the arts center.
