Madison (WQOW) -- The wheels were up for the Wisconsin basketball team. The Badgers arrived in the Dallas area Wednesday night.
What awaits them in Texas is a media storm the likes of which the players have never experienced. The Badgers know the pressure of the national spotlight can be overwhelming, so the team enters the trip with a pretty simple outlook.
"It's the third two-game tournament that you have to win. Having been through it at the division three level and I'm very proud of those teams. It's the same thing, the same process. You have to survive and advance," says coach Bo Ryan.
"The only thing that's going to be different is the outside stuff," adds junior guard Josh Gasser. "We're still going to practice the same way. Coach Ryan is going to do the same thing he always does. We're going to come prepared to practice like we always have. So it's just about kind of adjusting to the other stuff."
WQOW News 18 Sports Director Bob Bradovich will travel to North Texas later this week. His reports will begin on Thursday. Bob will also be part of a special half-hour preview show on the Badgers, which will air Friday at 6:30 P.M.
