25th annual Spring Ice Show features alumni figure skaters and founding instructors

Chippewa Falls (WQOW) - Sunday's warm weather melted away most of the snow, but that didn't stop some people from taking a spin on the ice.

The Chippewa Figure Skating Club hosted its 25th annual skating show. About 70 skaters hit the rink with duet and group performances. One of the coaches said this year's show featured alumni skaters who have been a part of the club within the last 25 years, as well as founding instructors of the club.

Heidi Strosahl, a coach from the Chippewa Figure Skating Club, said, "The beauty of figure skating is so much of it is just a simple glide across the ice, that freeing feeling. For many of our girls, if they can accomplish that, from there, they can take off with their skills, learn spins, turns, applying it to music and costume. It's just a beautiful feeling all around for the skater."

All proceeds from the show will benefit the club's current members and new skaters.
