Eau Claire (WQOW) -
Birds are chirping, the snow is melting and it won't be long before lawn mowers are running.
Eau Claire has a new site for residents to take their grass clippings. It's at the Jeffers Road Brush Site.
"I've noticed and our crews have noticed that people who live in the vicinity of parks have a tendency to take their grass clippings over to our parks and dump them in the park and that's not a good thing. That's not the correct way to dispose of grass clippings," Phil Fieber, Eau Claire Park and Rec Director, said.
The Jeffers Road Brush Site is open Tuesday from 7 to 10:30 am and Saturday from one to five pm to drop off grass and brush clippings. Phil Fieber says clippings must be dropped off in a paper bag or with no bag at all. Plastic bags are not allowed.
