Know it, fight it and end Pancreatic Cancer at the Purple Stride event in Madison

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- The Purple Stride event is back in the Madison area.

The goal is to know it, fight it and end Pancreatic cancer. Niketa Miller from the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network joins Wake Up Wisconsin Weekend to share more information about the event.

It is estimated that more than 46,000 Americans will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer this year, and more than 39,000 will die from the disease. It is the fourth leading cause of cancer death, with a relative five-year survival rate of just 6 percent. Pancreatic cancer has the lowest relative five-year survival rate of any major cancer.

The event will be on Sunday, April 27 at the Duck Pond at Warner Park.
