1st annual Volunteer Expo highlights needs at area agencies

Eau Claire (WQOW) - If you want to make a difference in the community but don't know where to start, there's still time to check out an event in Eau Claire today.

The Chippewa Valley Volunteer Association is putting on its first volunteer expo at Hobbs Ice Arena in Eau Claire. Community members are able to stop by and learn about the different volunteer opportunities available at dozens of human services agencies and non-profit organizations, like the sojourner house and feed my people.

Roberta Kostka, from the Chippewa Valley Volunteer Association, said, "We needed to get together and offer our community a volunteer expo which is basically a place to get together and learn about what is all available about volunteering in the Chippewa Valley. Every non-profit or organization that utilizes volunteers is always looking to add to their database to get new volunteers and get everyone involved."

The volunteer expo is free to attend and continues until 7pm on Tuesday, April 15.
