Surveillance photos of armed robbery suspects

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- The Dane County Sheriff's Office has released surveillance photos from a Tuesday armed robbery in the town of Burke, hoping the pictures help lead to the arrest of two suspects. The photos show one suspect in a hooded sweatshirt.

Detectives are interested in speaking with a customer in the TA Travel Center at the time of the robbery, also shown in the attached photograph. Anyone who recognizes either subject is encouraged to contact the Dane County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 608-284-6900.

Deputies responded to the robbery at the TA Travel Center on U.S. Highway 51 around 3:50 a.m. Tuesday.

Two clerks claim a man wearing gloves and a mask approached them holding a handgun and demanding money, and then he left with an undisclosed amount of cash, getting into a pick-up truck waiting outside with a second man in the driver's seat.

Dane County Sheriff's investigators have confirmed a pick-up reported stolen in the town of Windsor later Tuesday morning is the one that was used in the robbery. It was recovered and returned to its owner.

Detectives are looking for anyone who may have seen the truck neat the Travel Center around the time of the robbery and anyone with information related to the crime.

The truck is a 2008, red, Chevrolet Silverado with a silver tool box in the cargo bed.
