Eau Claire business moves out after 50 years in downtown

Eau Claire (WQOW) - The final tenant has moved out of a set of buildings set for demolition to make room for the proposed Confluence Project.

After more than 50 years in downtown Eau Claire, Scandinavian Imports has moved out.  A sign says the store will be temporarily closed and a new location announced.

Scandinavian Imports was the final tenant to leave the buildings along South Barstow after landlord John Mogensen told tenants in January they needed to be out by the end of March. Scandinavian Imports owner Dawn Bergstrom could not be reached for comment.

The buildings are slated to be torn down to make room for the Confluence Project. Developers hope to start demolition this summer.
