Sun Prairie baseball's path to perfection continues

Posted: Updated:
It has been more than a year since Sun Prairie last lost a baseball game. Since April 16, 2013 the Cardinals have reeled off 30 straight victories, which is the longest in the state of Wisconsin and one of the longest active streaks in the country. In the beginning stages of the 2014 season, Sun Prairie is coming off two Division-One state championships. Eight seniors lead this year's Cardinals team, which is aiming for its fifth straight Big 8 Conference title.
As a program that has experienced seven state championships, there's always a target on Sun Prairie's back. The Cardinals almost always see opponents' top pitchers and they're often heckled by the opposing dugouts, but being the hunted is a role they've flourished in.
While the Cardinals would love to keep their win streak going, the main goal in Sun Prairie is to add another Big 8 title and a state championship.
