Update on Confluence Project development agreement negotiations
Eau Claire (WQOW) - The Eau Claire City Council goes behind closed doors to talk about the Confluence Project but not without a debate first.Monday night, the council weighed whether it should keep the conversation about a development agreement out in the open. Eventually, members went into closed session. “A lot of the facts as we heard last night are changing as this project moves along and we need to keep our public up to speed with this,” said Council Member Dave Duax. “I think they do trust us but on the other hand I think they need to stay vigilant and make sure we're doing what they expect of us.” An agreement would include what responsibilities and costs would be covered by the city and what would be covered by developers. There's no word on how long it will take for an agreement to be reached.
