MADISON (WKOW)-- Runners took over downtown Madison Saturday morning for the 33rd annual Crazylegs Classic.

The 8K race attracts thousands of competitors and spectators. The route takes runners through downtown and ends on the 50 yard line at Camp Randall.

New this year, the top three male and female racers won prize money.

For the men, Joshua lund Took first, earning $500.

“It’s just like who I am,” Lund said of running. “If i'm not doing it, I dont' know who I am. I love it. Madison's got a great running community. Probably 80 percent of all my friends in Madison I've met through running.”

The winner in the women's division this year was Breeda Willis.

“I think it's just a huge, festive event and it kicks of Spring in Wisconsin,” Willis said of the race. “And I feel like coming down here for me is more about kicking off spring season. It's the end of the cold and the end of that rotten weather we had all winter.”

For those feeling less competitive, Crazylegs also includes two mile walk. After the race runners and spectators enjoyed drinks and live music at Camp Randall.
