Madison (WQOW) -- Former Badgers Jared Abbrederis and Ethan Hemer are hoping to land jobs with an NFL team.

Abbrederis knows all about trying to earn a spot on a team.  He started his Wisconsin career as a walk-on.  Abbrederis is working out in Madison with the other former teammates trying to make the jump from the UW to the NFL. Abbrederis has visited with the Packers, as well as the 31 other teams in the league.  He doesn't have a preference at this point--he just wants a chance.

"It's been a long process so I'm just excited to get it done with and start playing football again," Abbrederis says, "It's been a long job interview you could say. I'm excited to know where I'm going to be...I'm not really concerned if I go 1st, 2nd, 3rd, undrafted, whatever it may be. Obviously, I've been there before being a walk-on here at Wisconsin. so if it happens it happens, I'm going to keep working and that's not going to stop me."

Another former Badger playing the waiting game is Medford product Ethan Hemer...who hasn't spoken to as many teams as Abbrederis has, but like his former teammates, he just wants a shot.

"This year especially is up in the air," Hemer says, "no one really knows where they're going, what's going to happen, but the big thing that's really stuck out to me during this process is you don't have to impress all 32 teams, you just have to impress one team at the right time and so hopefully there's that one team that's out there that's impressed enough with me to give me a shot."
