Ryan Parker New Boys Hockey Coach At EC North

Eau Claire (WQOW) -- Eau Claire North alum Ryan Parker is the Huskies' new boys hockey coach.

Parker has been the head coach at Rice Lake these past two seasons, and was Altoona's head coach the three years prior.

Parker has a message for all who hope to suit up for the Huskies.

"I really want them to focus on the things that they can control," Parker says, "there's a weight room open at North that does not cost any extra money and is available to all student athletes. There's a lot of skill stuff that they can do...whether it's in their basement or in their garage. stick handling a puck, shooting a puck, and just getting into shape. Get into that mindset to improve on what they have already."

Parker was the 2013-14 Big Rivers Conference co-coach of year, sharing that honor with Eau Claire Memorial's Mike Schwengler.
